WINTER 2010 NEWS

I've finally transitioned to my indoor winter mode, and I'm painting some figurative pieces. Above is a painting of Sharon Littig that I'm just beginning - updates to follow. I've also got a back view nude in the works that will be posted soon. It's an homage of sorts to William Merritt Chase, featuring a Chinese screen, and antique kimono.

We had a beautiful snowfall just before Christmas and I had a good time painting in my yard. The light was crystal clear and the snow was vivid with all kinds of blue (image left).

Below are two photos from my recent weekend Portrait Painting Workshop, taught at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, in Annapolis, MD. The next workshop in on March 13 and 14.

1. Take Rt. 2 South over the South River Bridge
2. Turn left on Rt. 214
3. Go past the light at South River High School
4. Turn right on Muddy Creek Rd.
5. Turn right on Fiddlers Hill Rd.
6. You will be on a country road. Go past the pond on your right. You will wind up a hill and pass a house on your left.
